Biography

Dr Grove is a clinical and laboratory haematologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and PathWest. She cares for patients with both malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders. Her particular areas of interest include myeloid disorders, especially acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and thrombotic disorders. Along with her clinical and diagnostic roles she is working to implement new molecular diagnostic techniques within PathWest and helping to manage the Charles Day Tissue Bank. Originally from Perth, she undertook the final two years of her haematology training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge (UK) before completing a PhD in molecular biology at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and University of Cambridge under the supervision of Dr George Vassiliou. Her research investigated the pre-leukaemic evolution of nucleophosmin mutant AML using insertional mutagenesis and next generation sequencing techniques.
