We are delighted to present the BCRWA Annual Review – 2024.
We continue to make significant progress in fulfilling our mission to provide the best treatment and care to blood cancer patients while advancing research efforts to become an international centre of excellence.
Since the foundation of Blood Cancer Research WA six years ago, we’ve proudly facilitated a growing list of 111 lifesaving trials, benefitting over 881 patients.
In the past year alone, we’ve expanded our trial offerings with 26 new clinical trials, enabling more than 112 new patients access to these innovative therapies.
We have also designed and opened three investigator-initiated trials that have been conceptualised, developed, and implemented by our exceptional team in WA and have been operational at multiple sites across Australia.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we currently fund four haematology fellows and two nurse practitioners who have been dedicated to administering trials for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma.
Our ongoing goal is to expand access to revolutionary new clinical trials and increase the number of fellows and nurses essential for conducting this vital work.
On behalf of Professor Chan Cheah and the Blood Cancer Research Western Australia Board, our researchers, clinicians, staff, blood cancer patients and their families, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for being part of our journey.
Your contributions have been pivotal in helping us reshape the landscape of blood cancer research and treatment in Western Australia.
