Dr Julie Crawford

Julie is a qualified physician and specialist clinical and laboratory Haematologist. Julie graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1996. She remained in Perth to complete her basic Physician training and her advanced training in Haematology. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2005 and the Royal Australasian College of Pathologists in 2006. She travelled overseas in 2006 to take up a Fellowship in Cell Therapy with the Scottish National Blood transfusion Service and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Julie returned to Perth in 2009 after completing her MD in endothelial progenitor cells to join the Haematology Departments of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and PathWest Laboratory Medicine.

Julie is the Director of Stem Cell Transplantation and Apheresis Services and oversees the autologous stem cell transplant programme for our patients. Julie has particular interests in the management of lymphomas, and is the Department’s clinical lead for Hodgkin Lymphoma. On a wider hospital level Julie is a member of the Clinical Advisory Council for the North Metropolitan Health Board and is a member of the Clinical Association Executive at SCGH.
