Dr Sung Kai Chiu is a consultant haematologist and clinician-scientist with interest in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

He graduated from University of Western Australia and completed haematology training in Fremantle Hospital and The Alfred hospital in Melbourne. He was then awarded a Leukaemia Foundation scholarship and completed a laboratory PhD in Monash University investigating the development of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia using animal models.

Since returning to Perth, Dr Chiu has been awarded grants from Cancer Council of WA and Royal Australasian College of Physicians to continue his research into acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. This is being conducted through his affiliation with Blood Cancer Research WA, Kids Research Institute Australia, University of WA and Curtin University.
