Professor Chan Cheah

Professor Cheah is a Consultant Haematologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Linear Clinical Research and Hollywood Private Hospital. He received his MBBS from the University of Western Australia in 2003 and completed postgraduate training in Haematology in Perth and Melbourne. He completed Fellowships at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, Texas, USA).
Prof Cheah is the lymphoma lead and Fellowship Program Director Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Founder of Blood Cancer Research WA. His research interests are novel drug therapies. He has authored >170 peer-reviewed publications, attracted >15 million dollars in competitive grant funding and reviews for major journals in the field. He was awarded Cancer Council WA Cancer Researcher of the Year in 2023.
He is passionate about improving access for Australian patients to the novel lymphoma treatments and training the next generation of lymphoma researchers. He delights in his young family and enjoys cycling in his spare time.
