Professor Chan Cheah

MBBS(Hons) FRACP FRCPA DMSc

Professor Chan Cheah is a Haematologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital, Linear Clinical Research and Pathwest Laboratory Medicine WA. He graduated in Medicine from UWA in 2003, trained at Fremantle Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Melbourne) and MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, Texas, USA).

Professor Cheah is the clinical lead for lymphoma/fellowship program director at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and current Chair of the Australasian Lymphoma Alliance. He founded Blood Cancer Research WA in 2016 to address an unmet need for patients across the state. He is principal investigator on a large number of clinical trials, has authored >100 publications and attracted >10 million dollars in competitive grant funding. He was Cancer Council WA Early Career Cancer Researcher of the Year in 2018 and WA winner of the 40under40 award in 2019. 

He is passionate about training the next generation of lymphoma researchers. He loves spending time with his family and road cycling in all his spare time.
